Black Mountain Activities Ltd is looking for highly motivated people to join our experienced team. We are looking for staff who can positively contribute to our continued growth as an outdoor activity business. This is a good opportunity for someone looking for a position within an expanding business. As a multi activity centre we work with a wide range of ages and abilities from children, youth groups, families, social groups such as stag & hen parties as well as team building events for companies.

Positions Available

We are currently looking to fill the following positions:

  • Adventure activity instructor
  • Reception & Administration

Instructor

The role of the instructor is to deliver a safe, informative and enjoyable activity season. Working within the company’s guidelines and NGB qualifications. Where there is no qualification the company offers in house training. Some of our activities such as Gorge Walking, Caving and Rock Climbing take place around 40 minutes drive from the centre. Therefore you will be expected to transport our customers to these venues in one of our mini buses so having a D1 on your license would be an advantage. Car driving license is essential.

Working week:

Working hours are normally from 8.30am – 5.30pm.
There will be times during your employment that you will be required to work additional evening hours; this is usually from 7.00PM – 9.00PM. A flexible weekly Roster is programmed on a weekly basis.

Prerequisites:

All applicant must have at least 2 of the following NGB qualifications and a current first aid certificate:

  • Single Pitch Award
  • UKCC level 2 paddle sports ( or 4 star canoe/kayak)
  • Mountain Leader
  • Mountain Bike Award
  • Local Cave Leader – South Wales Level 1 or higher.
  • D1 mini bus

Contract Duration:

April to October 2017

Reception & Admin

We are currently looking to recruit part time staff to join our team at Black Mountain Activities and help with reception and admin duties. If you have an interest in the outdoors, have good people skills and telephone manor, experience with dealing with customers and general admin skills then maybe we have just the position to suit you.

Working week:
The position will be for 16 hours or more per week, and will include both mid-week and weekends.

Prerequisites:
All applicants must have the following:

  • Computer Literacy – must be knowledgable in Microsoft Office such as Word, Outlook & Excel
  • Good people skills
  • Good telephone manor

An interest in the outdoors is desirable  as you may be required to take part in activities, to help gain understanding of the activities we offer as a company.

Rate of pay

Rate of pay depending on experience.
