Experience the ultimate white water rafting adventure in Wales on the fast-flowing River Wye in Mid Wales. Our guided rafting sessions use exciting 2–3 person inflatable mini rafts, also known as Hot Dog Rafts, offering a thrilling and more hands-on alternative to traditional 8-person rafts.
Running exclusively from October to March, this adrenaline-fuelled adventure is perfect for beginners, adventurous groups, stag & hen parties, corporate teams, and experienced paddlers looking for an unforgettable day on the river.
🌿 WHAT TO EXPECT
Your adventure begins with a full safety briefing and paddling tuition from our fully qualified white water raft instructorsbefore heading onto the Upper River Wye near Builth Wells.
Working together in lightweight 2–3 person rafts, you’ll navigate natural rapids, wave trains, stoppers and fast-flowing water, developing teamwork and communication as you tackle the river. These smaller rafts put you much closer to the action, meaning you’ll feel every wave, twist and splash along the way.
Our sessions last approximately 4–5 hours, giving you more time on the water than many other rafting experiences and making it exceptional value.
Why Choose Hot Dog Rafting?
Unlike traditional group rafts, Hot Dog Rafts combine the excitement of kayaking with the stability of rafting. They’re agile, responsive and incredibly fun, allowing smaller teams to take on the river together under expert supervision.
Whether it’s your first white water experience or you’re looking for the next challenge after traditional rafting, this is one of the most exhilarating watersports in the Brecon Beacons and Mid Wales.
