Looking for a fun and relaxing way to explore the beautiful Brecon Beacons? Our Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) hireoffers the perfect opportunity to get out on the water and enjoy one of the UK’s fastest-growing watersports at your own pace.
Our SUP hire takes place on the calm stretch of the River Usk at Brecon Promenade, providing a scenic and sheltered location that’s ideal for a leisurely paddle. Surrounded by the stunning landscapes of the Brecon Beacons National Park, it’s a fantastic way to experience the outdoors from a unique perspective.
Whether you’re planning a family day out, an adventure with friends, or simply looking to spend a few relaxing hours on the water, paddleboard hire is a fun and memorable outdoor activity for confident paddlers of all ages.
🌿 Your SUP Hire Experience
Your adventure begins at our activity centre, where our friendly team will welcome you, check you in, and provide all the equipment you’ll need for your paddleboarding adventure.
After being fitted with a buoyancy aid and paddle, you’ll travel by minibus to the launch point on the Brecon Promenade, just a short drive away. Before setting off, one of our team will give you a brief safety and equipment introduction to ensure you’re confident before heading onto the water.
You’ll then have around 2 hours to enjoy the water at your own pace, paddling through one of the most picturesque stretches of water in the Brecon Beacons before being collected back at the starting point.

👨👩👧 New to Stand Up Paddleboarding?
Never tried SUP before? No problem!
If you’ve never been on a paddleboard before, we recommend booking one of our guided Stand Up Paddleboarding sessions, where our qualified instructors will teach you the fundamentals before you venture out on your own.

Choose from two hire time (arrivals to collection):
Morning: 9:15am to 12:00pm
Afternoon: 1:15pm to 4:00pm
Please arrive at the Black Mountain Adventure Centre for your session.

Route: River Usk, Brecon Promenade
Arrival Point: Black Mountain Adventure, LD3 0SD
Duration: approx. 2 hours on the water (around 2 hours 45 minutes from arrival to collection)

Includes buoyancy aid, paddle, SUP & transport.
Wetsuits can be hired on the day – £6pp

For everyone’s safety, we ask that:
- There’s minimum of 2 adults per booking.
- Minimum Age is 12 years – Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
- Weather conditions – If river level are unsafe on your chosen hire date your session will take place on the Brecon Canal.
🗺️ Paddleboard Hire Routes
Our SUP hire takes place on a beautiful section of the River Usk at the Brecon Promenade, offering calm, sheltered waters that are ideal for leisurely paddling.
The route is suitable for confident paddleboarders looking to enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the Brecon Beacons. However, when the river levels might be high or during the Winter our SUP hire will take place on the Brecon & Monmouthshire Canal.

Canoe & Kayak Hire is available as either a half day session or full day session. Times for each hire slot are specified below. Please also be aware that times include check-in, kit-up and transport to/from the river.

| WEATHER | If the river levels are too high and unsuitable on your chosen hire date, hire may either be offered on the Brecon & Monmouthshire Canal or an alternative date given. Please feel free to contact us 24 hours before arrival to check river levels. |

All our activity sessions take place outdoors where conditions may be wet, cold & muddy. Please consider this prior to arrival, preparing yourself with appropriate clothing for the outdoors.
