Discover a fun and memorable way to explore the Brecon & Monmouthshire Canal with our guided canoe adventures. Perfect for beginners, families, schools, and groups, these sessions combine gentle paddling with light adventure in the heart of Mid Wales.
Led by experienced British Canoeing qualified instructors, you’ll learn how to paddle, steer, and work together as a team while enjoying one of the most scenic and peaceful waterways in Wales.
🌿 WHAT TO EXPECT
Your session begins with a warm welcome, full equipment hire (including buoyancy aids and paddles), and a short safety briefing before heading onto the water.
Once afloat, your guide will teach you the essential paddling skills needed to move confidently along the canal. As your journey progresses, you’ll build confidence, learn simple techniques, and take part in optional fun challenges and games along the way.
With calm, sheltered waters, this is the perfect introduction to canoeing — relaxed, safe, and enjoyable for all abilities.
Great for beginners & first-time paddlers, school groups & youth organisations, corporate & team-building groups & families with children aged 5+ (restrictions apply).

Our Guided Canoe Trips on the Brecon Canal are available as a half-day session (2–3 hours).
Session times are listed below; however, finish times may vary slightly depending on group size. Please note that all timings include check-in, kit allocation, and travel to and from the activity location.
| MINIMUM AGE | 5 years (conditions apply) All children must be accompanied by a participating adult. |
| ADULT:CHILD RATIOS | Ages 5–7: Minimum of 2 adult per child, in the same boat Ages 8–11: Minimum of 1 adult per boat Ages 12-15: Can paddle without sharing a boat with an adult Please note: We have a limited number of larger canoes that can accommodate a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 small children).
