| Kayak taster days are designed for complete beginners giving you an introduction to the art of paddling a closed cockpit kayak. |

Normally run from April to October, instruction is on the Wye at Glasbury which offers a great sheltered location with easy access to the river. Kayaking can be exciting, adventurous, competitive and recreational, our kayak taster days encompasses all of these with a healthy helping of fun and adventure.

After an introduction by your coach, who is a qualified member of the British Canoe Union. He will get you kitted up with a wetsuit, buoyancy aid, helmet, paddle and of course the kayak, your coach will take you through a series of land based exercises, before getting on the water. |
| You will spend the morning locally learning new skills and developing correct paddling techniques. In the afternoon, the coach will lead you on a short expedition down river to put your newly found skills into practice. Throughout our kayak taster days the emphasis is placed on safe, enjoyable fun through progressive learning and confidence building. Kayaks have moved on a long way and over the past few years, new designs have made boats more controllable and safer to exit. |

We also run BCU Star awards 1, 2, & 3 for both Kayaking and Open Canoeing. So if you have some experience and would like to further enhance your knowledge and gain some star awards, then our instructional staff are here to help you improve on skills your already have and to help you to develope new techniques.
