Explore the world beneath your feet!
Our caving days take place in the Southern part of the Brecon Beacons National Park which, not only is riddled with
caverns, pot holes and passages, it is also the biggest cave entrance in South Wales and the largest cave passage in the United Kingdom.

With lots of great caves in the park, we have the flexibility to choose a cave system that will suit the needs of each individual group, making our cave days ideal for all levels of experience. The most popular cave used is Porth Yr Ogof - boasting fifteen entrances and exits, including the biggest in South Wales. Your cave leader will guide you through the easy but extensive underground system, exploring the many passages along the way, building interest, confidence and a healthy appetite.

Equipped with a helmet, head lamp, and protective oversuit,
your instructor will guide you into the caves where you will explore the beauty of the subterranean world formed over three millions years ago!

Your guide will introduce you to many of the sporting features, with great names like:
The Worm Hole
Death Ledge
The Rat Trap,
The Cork Screw

and not forgetting the
Letter Box’.
Don't be put off by the name, if you won't fit through the Letter Box, there is always ‘parcel post!’.
And, as with all great BMA adventures, the day would not be complete without a visit to the Washing Machine!
Yes, it means you are going to get wet!

Caving is available as either a full day or a half day and is fantastic for both adults and children (ages 8 years plus).

PLEASE NOTE: The Cave location is approximately a 30-40 minute drive from our activity centre, for which we do aim to provide transport for. However on busy days or for large groups you may be asked to follow our instructors in your own vehicles.
aving does involve manoeuvring through some small spaces and tight squeezes and can be strenuous, you should be physically fit to take part in this activity!
