KAYAK TASTER DAYS
If you’re looking to give kayaking a go then our kayak taster days are perfect for you. Suitable for both kids (12 yrs+) and adults, our kayak taster days are designed for beginners to introduce you to the skills and techniques of paddling a closed-cockpit kayak on a natural body of water.
During the session your British Canoeing qualified coach will take you through a series of land based exercises, teaching you essential kayaking skills before setting you out on the water.
Throughout the activity session, the emphasis is placed on safe, enjoyable fun through progressive learning and confidence building. Kayaking is an exciting, competitive and recreational sport so, for our taster days we encompass all of these with a healthy helping of fun and adventure!

Duration: 2 Hours
What’s Involved – You will spend the session staying locally on the river. During the session you will learn basic skills and develop correct paddling techniques in manoeuvring the kayak, along with playing a few games to put these newly learned skills to the test.
Duration: 4-5 Hours
What’s Involved – You will spend the morning staying locally on the river where you will concentrate on skill & technique, getting you comfortable in the Kayak. Then, in the afternoon your coach will lead you on a short expedition down river to put your newly found skills into practice whilst enjoying some games along the way.

Kayaking is available as either a half day session (2 hours) or full day session (4-5 hours). Times for each session are specified below however, finishing times may vary depending on group size. Please also be aware that times include check-in & kit-up.

All our activity sessions take place outdoors where conditions may be wet, cold & muddy. Please consider this prior to arrival, preparing yourself with appropriate clothing for the outdoors.
